Notably, the 52-year-old continued that he saw Cobie Smulders twice on Zoom, for her two appearances on the rewatch podcast, and hasn't seen Alyson Hannigan since his wedding to Jordana Jacobs in January 2024.

"It's like college where you have this very intense time together and you think you're going to be. You can't imagine not seeing each other every day, " he explained.

Radnor, who played Ted Mosby on the Emmy Award-winning show, explained that fans have always had "a yearning" for the cast to have a tight bond in real life.

"Individuals really want to believe that, like, me and Neil and Jason are hitting bars in New York City together. Individuals really want to believe that, " Radnor stated.

He continued, "It's a little more like family than friends in that you don't secure to choose your family. We were cast. We didn't choose each other. And family dynamics come out to play when you're in an environment like that for so long."

Radnor reiterated there's a "deep and rich and probably everlasting" love among the cast, but "it's not an active love."

Earlier this year, Radnor and Harris, 53, hashed out some of their on-set challenges on the "How We Made Your Mother" podcast, with Harris admitting he felt his performance as ladies man Barney Stinson "annoyed" Radnor.

"I remember often when we were filming, and I sensed frustration from you because you wanted the scene to be like a good scene and I was looking at you like, 'Motherf-er, I'm doing spit takes, '" Harris informed his former co-star.

Radnor confirmed he felt the tension between the two actors at the time, but observed the drama "might have been a little bit of confusion between actor and character."

Additionally, Radnor admitted he felt insecure when they were shooting the show since the rest of the cast, including Harris, was more famous than him at the time.

"I think that I was just trying to manage a lot of different things and emotions, and they came out sideways sometimes, " he remarked.
