Students and the driver of a private school bus sustained minor injuries after the bus collided with a container trailer near Janappanchatram junction, close to Sholavaram in Tiruvallur district, on Monday.
According to the police, the bus was travelling from Chennai airport to their school in Ponneri. The students were returning from a holiday trip.
The drivers of the bus and the container trailer were reportedly attempting to overtake each other when the vehicles collided sideways near Janappanchatram junction. In the impact, the bus’s front windshield, windows, and metal framework on its right side were damaged.
The students and the driver suffered minor abrasions and were taken to a private hospital.
