Professor at the Paari School of Business, SRM University-A.P., Satya Duvvuri, pressed students on Thursday to take ownership of their career, dream sizeable and continuously upgrade their skills to stay future-ready.
Addressing students of Andhra Loyola College (ALC) at a seminar on "Career Opportunities in Management and Technology-Future Ready: Opportunities Beyond Graduation, " organised by The Hindu Future India Club (FIC), in association with SRM University-A.P., Mr. Duvvuri remarked students should not let uncertainty regarding their career choices, unemployment, AI-driven changes, communication challenges, or their background limit their ambitions.
Citing the journey of D. Seshagiri Rao, an ALC alumnus who studied B.Sc. During 1961-64 and afterwards pursued M.A. And M.Ed. Before becoming Director of Education, Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Duvvuri remarked extraordinary achievements could emerge from ordinary beginnings. He encouraged students to believe in their potential and persevere despite challenges.
Quoting Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, he remarked students should pursue dreams that motivate them to work until they are realised. While highlighting opportunities in higher education, entrepreneurship and emerging fields such as Agentic AI, sales and negotiation, he identified communication skills, a winning attitude and proficiency in emerging technologies as essential for career expansion.
Mr. Duvvuri pressed students to apply their three years at ALC productively and dedicate the next 90 days to purposeful self-development and career preparation. He advised them to pursue careers aligned with their interests, never stop learning, explore new opportunities, and to avoid making funds the sole objective of their careers.
Meanwhile, Assistant Director, SRM University-A.P., V. V. S. Pradeep, shared two stories to encourage innovative thinking. While another viewed it as an untapped market that could be developed by educating consumers, citing the example of Bata shoe firm, he explained how one salesperson saw the absence of demand as a challenge.
In another example, Mr. Pradeep referred to the creation of the RedBus app, explaining how a difficulty in securing a bus ticket was transformed into an opportunity to develop a solution applied by millions of travellers.
He pressed students to think beyond conventional approaches, identify opportunities in everyday difficulties, and continuously update their knowledge and skills to remain future-ready.
ALC Principal Fr. Melchior and Head of the Department of BBA, P. Durga Pavani, were present at the seminar.
