The police investigating the August 10 murder of K. Amuthan (19) of Kallakurichi, a third-year student of a private engineering college at Othakalmandapam near Coimbatore, arrested a student of the same institution on Monday. According to The police, R. Monishan (21), a final year student of the engineering college, was arrested for alleged involvement in the crime. With this, the number of persons held so far in the case increased to 15.

Amuthan murder: 14 students arrested in six days
According to the police, Monishan of Thiruppalai in Madurai district, was part of the group of students. This person assaulted Amuthan over previous enmity at a ground close to their campus around 8.30 a.m. on August 10. According to The police, they were investigating suspected involvement of a few more persons in the murder.
