Suzuki has unveiled the e-Sky, its first electric kei car, a category of small, lightweight vehicles designed primarily for city driving in Japan.

Suzuki developed the vehicle platform specifically for kei EVs and placed the battery beneath the floor to improve aerodynamics while maintaining a lightweight structure.

For context, the e-Sky supports DC fast charging at up to 50 kW, allowing the battery to reach 80% in regarding 25 minutes. A full AC charge takes around eight hours with a 3 kW charger and regarding four and a half hours with a 6 kW charger. The EV additionally features a heat pump, one pedal driving and bidirectional charging.

In practice, the cabin features a digital instrument cluster and a 10.1 inch touchscreen, along with a heated steering wheel and electronic parking brake.
