For context, a major part of the initiative will focus on forestry, with around Rs. 5.409 billion allocated for plantation, forest restoration, nurseries, and related activities.

Notably, the project will carry out plantation and enrichment activities over 7, 150 hectares, establish 1, 200 kanals of wild-fruit orchards, and distribute around 44 million plants for farm forestry.

It will additionally establish 278.13 hectares of departmental nurseries and prepare three integrated landscape restoration aims.

Authorities stated the project will focus on restoring degraded areas, improving natural regeneration, increasing the availability of quality planting stock, and involving farmers and local communities in expanding tree cover.

Notably, the plan additionally includes rangeland rehabilitation, research and development, capacity building, public awareness, community participation, and technical and financial feasibility studies for carbon credits.

Around Rs. 1.079 billion has been allocated for wildlife and biodiversity conservation. The component includes wildlife population censuses, habitat assessments, GIS-based mapping, and scientific monitoring of protected areas and key biodiversity sites. Notably, the administration will additionally assess 18 sites for the expansion of trophy-hunting programs, implement the Sizeable Carnivore Conservation Plan, strengthen the conservation of priority wildlife species, wetlands and waterfowl, and rehabilitate seven wildlife parks and breeding centers.

According to a senior official, 55.9 million plants will be raised in forest nurseries and planted throughout the province during the project.

KP's forest cover stood at around 20% before the Billion Tree Tsunami Afforestation Program. After the Billion Tree and 10 Billion Tree initiatives, it climbed to 26.3%.
