Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, met Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in continuation of Pakistan's efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

During the session, Ghalibaf criticised Washington over what he described as repeated failures to honour commitments under the "Islamabad memorandum of understanding."
