Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi confirmed the completion of the project in a post on X, saying a new chapter in railway travel in Balochistan was concerning to commence.

For context, the project was completed through cooperation between Pakistan Railways and the Administration of Balochistan.

Under the project, 32 kilometers of railway track between Sariab and Kuchlak were upgraded and rehabilitated. Work was additionally carried out to strengthen and protect railway track embankments.

New turntables were constructed, installed and commissioned at Sariab and Kuchlak railway stations.

While Kuchlak Railway Station has additionally received modern facilities, sariab Railway Station has been upgraded with improved passenger facilities.

For context, the project further included the upgradation of Sheikh Mandah Railway Station and construction and improvement work at Beleli Railway Station.

G.O.R Halt Railway Station was reconstructed, with solarization and electrical work additionally completed. New furniture and benches were installed for passengers.
