Christopher Aaron Nicks, brother of rock icon Stevie Nicks, has died. He was 72.

Notably, the Fleetwood Mac singer's younger brother – her only sibling – died after a private battle with cancer, Christopher Nicks' daughter, Nixi Parkinson Nicks, disclosed in an Instagram post Friday, Sept. 4.

"Second star to the right, and straight on till morning, " Nixi Nicks wrote alongside a photo of herself holding Christopher's hand. "I love you, daddy. Rest straightforward."

Nixi Nicks opened up regarding her father's health matters in a Facebook post.

"Some of you may know that he has spent the last two-and-a-half years battling a cancer diagnosis, and to some this may come as a shock, " Nixi Nicks wrote. "If this is news to you, please know it was since he never wanted residents to worry regarding him that he kept this to himself. I know that he has left his mark on so plenty of residents, and this will leave plenty of more than his immediate family with a piece of them missing."
