Two of a family killed in road accident near Abiramam

Two persons of a family, B. Malarkodi, 43, of Valaiyankulam and her son, Jeshwin Bala, 9, were killed in a road accident involving their car and an omni bus at Seyyamangalam on Monday night.

Malarkodi’s husband, Balamurugan, 45, and another son, Nithin, 13, were injured in the accident. They were admitted to the Government Rajaji hospital in Madurai.

The police stated that the family members were returning home after visiting a hospital in Madurai for a treatment for Jeshwin Bala. When the car was proceeding on Abiramam-Parthibanur Road, an omni bus going towards Chennai hit the car around 8 p.m. All the four were rushed to the Government Hospital in Kamuthi. However, the Malarkodi and Jeshwin Bala died of head injuries.

The police have booked bus driver K. Arul Iruthayaraj of Mudukulathor in this connection.
