Meanwhile, the federal administration on Saturday transferred BS-20 officer Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi from his post as inspector general of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police and appointed him director general of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), according to a notification issued by the Establishment Division.

As amended by the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (Amendment) Act, 2025, and Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, the notification remarked the transfer and appointment had been produced with the approval of the federal administration under Section 29(3) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016. The order takes "immediate effect and until further orders".

Meanwhile, the outgoing Rizvi's post will be filled by Captain (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry. This person is at present serving "under the Government of Punjab", according to a separate notification.
