WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump is set on Sept. 30 to start sending $500 checks to almost 1 million Americans his administration states were overcharged through the Affordable Care Act's federal exchange for buying health insurance.

Treasury Department checks, along with letters signed by Trump notifying recipients, will commence going out to more than 950, 000 Americans throughout 30 states, according to an administration official.

"For years, the Biden administration overcharged you to fund the operation of HealthCare.gov, " Trump notes in the letter. It was viewed by USA TODAY. Most recipients are individuals who earn concerning 400% of the federal poverty line ‒ $64, 000 for a single person or $132, 000 for a family of four ‒ but it includes some individuals between 100-400% of the federal poverty line, the White House remarked.
