Jointly organized by the Riphah Institute of Lifestyle Medicine (RILM), Riphah International University, and the Pakistan Association of Lifestyle Medicine (PALM), in collaboration with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Administration of Pakistan, the two-day conference is being held under the theme, "Redefining Healthcare: Lifestyle Medicine at the Core of One Health." Its subtheme focuses on integrating Precision Chronomedicine with Lifestyle Medicine to promote whole-person health.
Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Syed Mustafa Kamal, inaugurated the conference as the Chief Guest. The conference was additionally attended by Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan, Chancellor, Riphah International University and Conference Patron-in-Chief; Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Riphah International University; Lt.Gen. Prof. Dr. Arshad Nasim, HI(M), Surgeon General/DGMS (IS), Pakistan Armed Forces; Dr. Zaeem Zia, Federal Director General Health; Dr. Rizwan Taj, President PMDC; Prof. Dr. Shoaib Shafi, President CPSP; Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Chairman HEC; and other senior representatives of healthcare, academia and regulatory institutions.
Welcoming the participants, Dr. Shagufta Feroz, Founder President of PALM and Director of RILM, highlighted the importance of advancing Lifestyle Medicine through education, training, and its integration into clinical practice, with a solid focus on prevention and whole-person health. Dr. Zafar Mirza, President of PALM and former Federal Minister for Health, emphasized the need to address the growing burden of non-communicable diseases by strengthening prevention and embedding evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine within healthcare systems and public health policy.
Maj. Gen. Prof. Dr. Najm-us-Saqib Khan, HI(M), T.Bt. (Retd.), Dean, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Riphah International University, highlighted the conference's role in connecting scientific knowledge with practical approaches to disease prevention, recovery and community wellbeing.
In practice, the conference programme features expert discussions, international plenary sessions, research presentations and interactive learning laboratories covering chronomedicine, nutrition, mental wellbeing, physical activity, restorative sleep, cancer prevention, smoking cessation and community-based health interventions.
