According to data shared by Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Shehzad, exports additionally climbed by $410 million or 16 percent month-on-month (MoM) in September from $2.53 billion in August. During the first quarter of FY2026-27, Pakistan's goods exports reached $8.42 billion, up 10.8 percent from the same period a year earlier. The country exported almost $825 million more goods during the first three months of the fiscal year compared with the corresponding period last year.
Export expansion during the quarter was broad-based, with all three major sectors recording increases. While textiles and apparel exports grew 6 percent, agri and food exports rose 23 percent year over year, manufacturing, mining and energy exports rose 17 percent.
Notably, the strongest expansion came from the agri and food sector. It recorded a 62 percent YoY rise in exports in September alone. Manufacturing additionally posted robust MoM expansion, with exports rising 35 percent from August.
For context, the growth in exports was not limited to textiles, traditionally Pakistan's largest export sector. Expansion in agricultural and food products as well as manufacturing, mining and energy contributed significantly to the overall rise during the quarter.
