Agritech Limited has resumed production at its urea plant after Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited restored gas supply, ending the latest disruption that had forced the fertilizer manufacturer to halt operations.
The company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange on August 17 that gas supply from SNGPL had been restored and that its urea plant had consequently resumed production.
SNGPL had suspended re-gasified liquefied natural gas supply to Agritech’s urea plant from July 18 following a administration decision linked to disruptions in RLNG supplies arising from the prevailing regional situation.
The latest shutdown was not the first interruption faced by the company this year. In March, Agritech also suspended urea production after SNGPL halted RLNG deliveries after a potential force majeure event declared by an LNG supplier amid disruptions caused by the war in the Middle East. Gas supply was restored later that month, allowing the plant to restart.
