Additional Director-General of Police (Armed Police) R. Dhinakaran handing over a cheque for ₹30 lakh to the bereaved family.

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has confirmed a solatium of ₹30 lakh for the family of A. Dharmaraj, a 56-year-old Grade-I police constable. This person collapsed and died while on Independence Day parade duty at Fort St. George on Saturday.

Following the Chief Minister’s announcement, Further Director-General of Police (Armed Police) R. Dhinakaran visited the constable’s residence and handed over a cheque for ₹30 lakh to the bereaved family. S. Vijayakumar, Commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police Training Centre, Avadi, was present on the occasion.
