With Indian Institute of Management Bangalore – Dorabji Tata School of Undergraduate Studies' set to commence on August 31, the institution remarked that it attracted a record of 12, 000 applications from nationwide for the inaugural cohort of only 80 students.

As per the release, the highly competitive selection process has brought high-calibre students in the first batch with outstanding profiles. Meanwhile, Devi Shetty, Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIMB signed an MoU with Noel Tata, Chairman, Tata Trusts on August 21. The MoU states that the trust will backing the establishment and initial development of the academic infrastructure for the School of Undergraduate Studies, along with contributing to the strategic direction and vision-setting, policy formulation and governance oversight.
