Apollo Hospitals on Tuesday launched ‘Always Open, Always Here’ initiative to produce healthcare more accessible by offering medical services even on Sundays for routine and preventive care. This way, people do not have to wait for an emergency or a weekday to seek medical attention.

While emergency, critical care, and inpatient services have been available 24×7 so far, the new initiative will extend to Sundays access to outpatient consultations, diagnostics, preventive health checks, follow-up consultations, and scheduled procedures at all Apollo centres in the country. This will help patients and families seek timely care, without having to wait for a weekday, doctors stated at the launch.

Launching the initiative in New Delhi, Prathap C. Reddy, founder and chairman, Apollo Hospitals, said prevention must remain at the heart of healthcare, and called on people to apply Sundays to prioritise their health and get themselves checked.

He noted the initiative is important as it makes healthcare available when residents need it.

“The idea behind Always Open, Always Here is precisely that people should not have to wait for an emergency to seek healthcare. What is particularly delightful is that today, the entire Apollo system — more than 80 locations nationwide — is coming together for this initiative. We will start by ensuring that our hospitals are available on Sundays for routine consultations and services, so that people do not have to wait for weekdays or take time off from work,” stated Preetha Reddy, executive vice-chairperson of Apollo Hospitals.
