Bank Alfalah Funds Multi-Partner School Initiative for Health and Financial Literacy

Bank Alfalah, one of Pakistan's leading commercial banks, in collaboration with the Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN), Zindagi Trust and Kiran Foundation, has backed the launch of the School-Based Family Learning Initiative.

In practice, the initiative was introduced at Zindagi Trust's SMB Fatima Jinnah School in Karachi. It will run throughout three Zindagi Trust schools and two Kiran Foundation schools in Karachi and Shangla, using schools to reach students and their families.

Teachers will receive training to conduct health-literacy sessions with mothers and caregivers. AMAN's digital health-literacy platform, Bakhabar Noujawan, will provide content on key health and wellbeing topics.

Dr Raj Kumar, EPI Programme Director, Sindh, spoke regarding the importance of vaccination and closer collaboration between the Expanded Programme on Immunization and the Education Department to improve health awareness and outreach.
