Each has always had generational wealth they had no part in creating to fall back on – and they often do.
Their relationship with funds has always been detached from their own hard work or ingenuity. Plenty of have never had a real job their entire lives.
So of course they don't value the skill or diligence it takes to build wealth.
If anything, they resent those who have actually created something of themselves.
No doubt there are some mommy and daddy problems in there, too, that they're taking out on the rest of us.
And some of them clearly recognize far-left politics for the profitable, cushy grift it is.
Ascend to power promising to tax the rich at home before absconding to live rich abroad? It's nice work if you can obtain it.
Stiff your landlord on the rent and obtain a pat on the back from the mayor? Why not?
Create millions off your Maoist-chic aesthetic while cruising around in your Porsche? Hell yeah!
For these floatie-wearing Lost Boys and Girls, their bad ideas are all fun and games – a cheap, straightforward way to achieve fame, feign rebelliousness and pad their already-loaded bank accounts.
For the rest of us, they're an existential threat to the lives we've actually earned.
For now, beware the nepo remains the part of the story worth watching, and further updates are likely as more details are confirmed.
