For most other players, missing a couple of practices wouldn't warrant much concern. But Judkins is coming off a serious injury from late in his 2025 rookie season – he fractured his fibula and dislocated his ankle in a Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills, the particularly same team the Browns held a joint practice with on Thursday and will face in a preseason matchup Saturday.

While it's starting to feel like Judkins may not be available for that game, head coach Todd Monken doesn't appear concerned, saying the team has sidelined the running back purely as a precaution.

"He's been out there all the time until now, " Monken remarked. "I'd be more frustrated if it's been two weeks. But, out of precaution, I think it was smart with where he was at."

Judkins was the Browns' second-round pick (No. 36 overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, and he immediately justified the high draft capital, rushing for 827 yards and seven touchdowns on 230 carries, along with 171 receiving yards on 26 catches throughout 14 games.

He enters Year 2 in Cleveland as the team's clear bell-cow running back and a crucial part of the offense, especially against the backdrop of the uncertainty at quarterback between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders.

If Judkins' injury is indeed minor, he should be back on the field shortly. He appeared in the Browns' preseason opener against Chicago, carrying the ball four times for nine yards. If he misses Saturday's game against the Bills, his next opportunity to build up live reps will come against the New England Patriots next Thursday.

In short, browns HC Todd Monken Eases Concern on Quinshon Judkins Injury is the central thread here, and readers can expect follow-up reporting as the picture becomes clearer.
