Informing the Legislative Council that the State administration would simplify the process to secure caste certificates, Minister for Medical Education Sharan Prakash Patil stated on Thursday that the possibility of extending dates would be examined. He was responding on behalf of the Revenue Minister to a question posed by Congress member K. Shivakumar. "We will examine the possibility of extending the last dates to apply in response to recruitment notifications issued by various departments."

Earlier, pointing out the Maharashtra model, where the employ of blockchain technology had prevented fake certificates, Council member K. Shivakumar suggested that Karnataka should additionally implement the model to prevent the submission of fake certificates. He continued that getting a caste certificate had become a herculean task.

Since 2021, Karnataka has seen the registration of 2, 583 start-ups, of which 762 start-ups received funding to a tune of ₹175.94 crores. Under the Elevate Next programme, deep-tech start-ups have received financial assistance of up to ₹1 crore, and ₹4 lakh in financial assistance has been provided to farmers, technicians, artisans and craftsmen.
