Mr. Naidu offered the assurance at the first-ever gathering of the Consultative Committee of the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation held in Mysuru on Friday. The session was chaired by Mr. Naidu, with Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol as co-chairperson.

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar pressed the Centre to introduce direct flights from Mysuru to Mumbai, Kochi, Tirupati and Goa and submitted a detailed memorandum to Mr. Naidu highlighting the city's growing aviation requirements.

Responding to the MP's memorandum, Mr. Naidu remarked, "Mysuru needs better air connectivity. I am confident that Mysuru will shortly secure its due share. Mr. Yaduveer has been continuously after up with me for all kinds of backing. I will direct my office to take up all the pending works immediately."

Mr. Wadiyar remarked Mysuru needed a long-term aviation strategy rather than temporary or short-term solutions and should be developed as a robust regional aviation hub connecting it with major cities nationwide.

"Mysuru needs better air connectivity. My commitment is not limited to session immediate requirements. I am working towards a long-term and permanent solution that will provide Mysuru with solid air links to different parts of the country, " he stated.

Mr. Wadiyar additionally called on the Union Minister to expedite the ongoing expansion and development works at Mysuru Airport.

He remarked the timely completion of the works was essential to handle the growing passenger traffic and facilitate the operation of further routes and larger aircraft.

"Mysuru needs an airport commensurate with its importance and future potential. My efforts will continue to create an airport capable of effectively connecting Mysuru with different parts of the country, " he remarked.

Mr. Wadiyar remarked direct flights to Mumbai, Kochi, Tirupati and Goa would benefit tourists and local residents and create new opportunities for the hotel, tourism, business and services sectors.

Mysuru attracts tourists throughout the year for its heritage, palaces, Dasara, culture, yoga and wellness tourism, besides its proximity to a number of major tourist destinations. Direct flights to key cities would strengthen the tourism economy and encourage investment and business activity, he remarked.

He continued that better connectivity with major aviation hubs would enable passengers from Mysuru to access destinations throughout India and international locations more conveniently.

Mr. Naidu, Mr. Mohol and members of the Consultative Committee visited Chamundi Hills on Friday morning and offered special prayers at the Chamundeshwari Temple.
