Chhattisgarh signs two key MoUs to strengthen PM GatiShakti implementation

RAIPUR: The Chhattisgarh administration has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to integrate geospatial technology and real-time logistics analytics into governance under the PM GatiShakti initiative.

Notably, the agreements with the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) and National Logistics Data Services Ltd. (NLDSL) were signed during the regional PM GatiShakti and LEADS 2025 Dissemination Workshop in Raipur. The workshop was jointly organised by the state's Department of Commerce and Industries and the Centre's Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Chhattisgarh has integrated more than 35 departments into the PM GatiShakti platform, mapping 41 mandatory and over 600 extra data layers. The state has additionally developed 45 apply cases and 30 analytical tools under the platform.

"PM GatiShakti is strengthening data-driven decision-making in Chhattisgarh, enabling us to plan infrastructure more effectively, identify connectivity and logistics gaps, and backing better-aligned industrial development. This is helping create stronger conditions for investment and sustainable economic expansion, " Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated.

For context, the state is using GIS-based technology to identify road accident black spots, villages without adequate banking services and routes for bus services under MMGBY.

Authorities stated more than 80 projects have been backed under the Annual Action Plan. The state has additionally installed 600 mobile towers in tourism areas and finalised 700 acres in Nava Raipur under the Bhavya Scheme.

Meanwhile, the state has additionally developed the Chhattisgarh GEO Portal through CHiPS. The portal includes a Department GIS Scorecard, predictive analysis of infrastructure gaps, a GIS-enabled NOC system and AI-based planning tools.

Authorities stated the initiative intends to link digital intelligence with the state's industrial economy, including integrated logistics and cargo aggregation hubs in the Raipur-Bhilai-Durg industrial belt.
