Construction of three new underpasses on Peshawar Road in Rawalpindi is due to commence in the first week of September as part of the final phase of the city's signal free corridor project.

Authorities have almost completed the relocation of utility services at the three sites and have additionally finalized alternative traffic routes to keep vehicles moving during construction.

Once completed, the signal free corridor will provide motorists with easier access to Islamabad International Airport, the Islamabad Lahore and Peshawar motorways, and the Hazara motorway. According to the project plan, motorists will be able to travel from Kachehri Chowk to Motorway Chowk in around 20 minutes after the corridor becomes fully operational.
