A family from Vedasandur has submitted a petition to Dindigul Collector seeking protection. The family alleged that they were being continuously threatened by the man who had sexually harassed their daughter.
The family said one Kesavan had sexually harassed their daughter. Following a police complaint, Vadamadurai All-Women Police had registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The family stated Kesavan was an influential person. He was continuously threatening them and forcing them to withdraw the case. The police were also deliberately delaying the proceedings without conducting a proper investigation, they stated.
The family sought protection and legal assistance. They demanded that the police expedite the investigation into the case and ensure that justice is served.
