ISLAMABAD – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday arrested Dr. Shaukat Ali Bangash, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and owner of the Quaid-I-Azam International Hospital, in a case allegedly involving illegal human kidney transplantation on a commercial basis. The FIA Islamabad Zone's Anti-Corruption Circle took the action days after it busted an illegal human kidney transplantation network, a senior official of the agency remarked. Six suspects have already been arrested in the case. Among those arrested are kidney transplant surgeon Dr. Nadir and transplant coordinator Adeel Shirazi, according to the details. The Islamabad High Court has already rejected the post-arrest bail applications of the arrested suspects.
