Notably, the Sirwar Police have registered an FIR against four Hokrani residents identified as 22-year-old Gundya, 22-year-old Mahanthesh, 23-year-od Veeresh and 45-year-old Mundargi Basawaraj after a complaint lodged by the victim's father.

After the complaint, the Sirwar Police registered Crime No 158/2026 under Sections 137(2), 103(1), 70, 238 [causing disappearance of evidence of crime] and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 along with Section 3(2)(v) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act 2015.
While emergency personnel retrieved the victim's body and sent it for a post-mortem examination, sniffer dog units and fingerprint experts were deployed to gather forensic evidence.
"We have registered a case and introduced a full-scale investigation. A team of police officers has been formed to track down and arrest the accused, " Mr. Giri informed the media.
