Dolly Parton has been laid to rest in a private ceremony, her niece remarked on Instagram. USA TODAY has reached out to Parton's estate for confirmation.

On Aug. 31, the country musician remarked his Nashville-based Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk will recognize Friday, Sept. 25 as "Dolly Day." The date choice is a nod to Parton's iconic hit, "9 to 5, " according to a news release on Brooks' website.

On Sept. 25, all of the proceeds created at the restaurant and bar will be donated to Parton's Imagination Library, a free book gifting program for children the late musician founded in 1995.

"Whatever the cash register says at the end of the day is going to Dolly's passion, " Trisha Yearwood, country musician and Brooks' wife, remarked in the news release. "This is 100% about Dolly and her love for children's literacy."

She canceled a public appearance at Dollywood on Aug. 14, saying her doctor advised her not to travel since she was dizzy and dehydrated.

Parton was privately laid to rest on Aug. 28, niece Lainey Mae Parton shared in an Instagram post on Aug. 29. USA TODAY reached out to Parton's estate for confirmation.

"It still doesn't feel real that she's gone, " her niece wrote. "I'm going to miss her voice, her laugh, her hugs, and just knowing she was there. I'm even going to miss those 4 a.m. Calls, and I'd offer anything to see her name pop up on my phone again."
