Ghandhara Industries Limited is due to bring Japanese truck brand UD Trucks to Pakistan after signing a strategic partnership with UD Trucks Corporation for the import and distribution of its trucks in the local market.
The company disclosed the development to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on August 17, saying it had formally signed a collaboration agreement with UD Trucks for the import and distribution of its trucks in Pakistan.
Under the agreement, Ghandhara will market and distribute completely built units of UD Trucks in the country. The company expects commercial distribution to commence in the first quarter of 2027.
The partnership will expand Ghandhara’s product portfolio and give the business a presence in another segment of the international truck market. UD Trucks is a global truck manufacturer and is part of the broader Volvo Group.
Ghandhara said the initiative represents a significant step in its product portfolio expansion and is anticipated to contribute positively to the company’s future expansion prospects.
The agreement also marks a new development for Pakistan’s commercial vehicle market, where demand for heavy trucks is closely linked to transportation, logistics, construction and broader economic activity.
