Gomathipuram residents have appealed to the Corporation to install a high-mast lamp on Sixth Main Road and take measures to curb stary dog menace in their area.
At its annual meeting held on Sunday, the Gomathipuram Thendral Nagar Residents Association passed various resolutions. The meeting was presided by association presided D. Raghavan.
The meeting called on the Corporation to do the milling work as per government specification while laying new roads and ensure original road levels, initiate suitable legal action against illegal sewage connections, clear blockages and debris in new manholes for free flow of drainage water and raise the levels of newly erected UGD manholes.
The members wanted collection of garbage from houses at least thrice a week and relocation of 11 dust bins kept on Malligai East Street to prevent health hazard.
They requested the administration to desilt and deepen the Vandiyur Tank and to put to use the newly laid sewage treatment plant established at a cost of ₹6 crore to prevent the sewage water from entering Vandiyur Tank from Pudur through the Industrial Estate.
To prevent any untoward incident, the members appealed to the authorities to replace the existing 20 watts LED lights with new 40 watts bulbs. They thanked MLA A. Kallanai for the steps initiated at Vandiyur Park.
Association vice-president Rm. Sethuram proposed a vote of thanks, a release issued here on Monday said.
