It additionally covers hazardous and industrial waste treatment systems and dedicated water treatment facilities as part of efforts to bring the yard in line with the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships.
Project Director Saeed Ahmed Umrani remarked the project has entered the procurement and construction phase, backed by a Rs. 780 million allocation under the federal Public Sector Development Programme for 2026 to 2027.
