Working-class cosplaying Democratic Socialists of America leader Gustavo Gordillo hasn't applied a single union worker for renovations on his $1.5 million nepo-home in Brooklyn – as the city issued a stop-work order Friday on the project, The Post has learned.

For context, a city Department of Buildings inspector slapped the order – which dinged Gordillo for not getting proper permits for interior and facade work – on the two-story, almost 2, 000-square-foot Bed-Stuy home's door.

Notably, the order halts the roughly $1.4 million gut renovation that plenty of of Gordillo's more-hardscrabble neighbors along gentrifying Decatur Street viewed with a mix of awe and apprehension.

"After some individuals have renovated or fixed up their house, obviously they feel as if they have to pass on some of that cost. But some of these renovations are not straightforward to do and that makes it not straightforward for the normal New Yorkers to be able to live in this neighborhood."

Gordillo, 38, who co-chairs the New York City's DSA chapter, crowed for years regarding being a union electrician – but didn't even hire one to rewire the home his millionaire mommy and daddy purchased him, city records show.

Not one firm, in fact, that Gordillo hired for the project had any record of being union-affiliated.

"They tore that house down completely like there was nothing there and they built this big green wall in front of it, so you couldn't see anything, " remarked James, 40, a neighbor who lived throughout the street his entire life. "All it was, was a big wall of permits."

Perhaps the entirely open shop home renovation project is fitting now that Gordillo himself is no longer a union member.

Gordillo was fired from his apprenticeship program in March after he no-showed his employer for months, the IBEW Local 3 union confirmed this week.

He conveniently – or deceitfully – didn't mention that fact last month when he pushed DSA rank-and-file for full-time pay and benefits by telling sob stories regarding supposedly doing interviews on construction job sites with an earpiece, sources previously stated.

Notably, the son of a successful businessman, Gordillo was born in Peru and immigrated to Florida as a child.

For context, the Yalie moved to New York City in 2016, finding work at a high-end Chelsea gallery and living in a $2, 600-a-month Lower East Side apartment for which his father paid the rent.

Gordillo's parents purchased the Bed-Stuy home for him and his brother in 2019.

When he joined the electrician union, the avowed socialist tried to embark on a blue-collar path in 2024.

He proudly played up his labor bona fides on X, taking the handle @unionGustavo and describing himself as "@nycdsa co-chair, union electrician."

But he halted showing up to work concerning the same time as fellow privileged DSA member Zohran Mamdani was elected in November, union authorities remarked.

Against the backdrop of Gordillo's attempt to gain working-class cred and rise to DSA prominence, he tapped workers to completely redo his posh home.

Completed renovations include its entire front facade, the planting of lush landscaping and new decks.

"This is a totally new building. It's a particularly challenging and expensive process but he did it, " noted another neighbor who lives throughout the street.

"It's particularly quiet, highly private. I wish I could have the private decks like that, but we can barely pay our mortgage. I have no penthouse in my future." Singleton-Ferrari, for her part, wasn't impressed.

"I do have to say that it stands out a bit as a sore thumb, " she remarked.

"I don't think it matches the landscape of the rest of the neighborhood. And I'm a little bit like shame on you for kind of going against what you were saying to others."

When the stop-work order arrived, renovation work apparently continued on the house's second floor until Friday.

Department of Buildings authorities didn't immediately respond when asked what led to the order. Gordillo didn't respond for comment.$1.5M.
