Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg on Thursday directed authorities to prepare a comprehensive action plan for the forthcoming corporation elections and complete all arrangements well in advance.
At a review session held at the GVMC, Mr. Garg asked authorities to follow the orders and guidelines issued by the State administration and the State Election Commission. He directed the Chief City Planner and Zonal Commissioners to examine objections and grievances relating to ward expansion and delimitation and take action as per the prescribed rules.
Meanwhile, the Zonal Commissioners were asked to prepare polling station-wise electoral rolls, record voter numbers accurately, and verify the lists to ensure that no eligible voter was left out and no name duplicated.
Mr. Garg additionally directed office-holders to plan polling station identification, personnel deployment, and election material management, and ensure basic amenities, including drinking water, electricity, lighting, toilets, ramps, and sanitation.
