Haldiram plans units in Khurda, Cuttack; nod for Rs 2,780.10 cr proposals

BHUBANESWAR: The state-level single-window clearance authority (SLSWCA) chaired by chief secretary Anu Garg on Friday approved 14 industrial investment proposals worth Rs 2, 780.10 crore with the projects projected to create 14, 104 jobs.

• Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd has additionally submitted proposal to invest Rs 405.35 crore in a private railway siding for Subhadra Coal Mines in Angul to improve coal evacuation connectivity.
• Premium Chick Feeds has proposed to establish units throughout Khurda, Cuttack and Nayagarh at a cost of Rs 105.38 crore.
• Tiwana Nutrition Global's cattle-feed manufacturing unit, involving Rs 140 crore, is projected to create another 2, 500 jobs.
• In high-value manufacturing, Syrma SGS Technology Ltd will establish a Rs 300 crore printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies and box-build manufacturing facility in Khurda, creating 500 jobs.
• Chemical manufacturing has attracted three projects including Prasol Chemicals' Rs 450 crore phosphorous derivatives plant in Ganjam with job potential for 458.

Meanwhile, the projects span food processing, agro-processing, textiles and apparel, chemicals, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, electronics, steel and ferro-alloys, downstream manufacturing and industrial infrastructure.

Haldiram Snacks Food Pvt Ltd has proposed to set up snacks and baked products manufacturing facilities in Khurda and Cuttack with an investment of Rs 500 crore and having employment potential of 800 individuals.

Sahana Clothing Company's proposed readymade garment unit for knitted baby and kidswear in Dhenkanal involves an investment of Rs 251.45 crore and projected to generate 5, 104 jobs, the largest employment commitment among the approved projects.

Meanwhile, the textitle manufacturing sector is set for another addition with Pratima Agro Spinning Mill proposing to invest Rs 125-crore in a textile processing unit in Balangir which will create 400 jobs.

Premium Chick Feeds has proposed to establish units throughout Khurda, Cuttack and Nayagarh at a cost of Rs 105.38 crore. They are projected to generate 1, 054 jobs.

In high-value manufacturing, Syrma SGS Technology Ltd will establish a Rs 300 crore printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies and box-build manufacturing facility in Khurda, creating 500 jobs. Sastasundar Healthbuddy Ltd intends to invest Rs 56 crore in a medical-device manufacturing unit with employment potential of 1, 050.

Chemical manufacturing has attracted three projects including Prasol Chemicals' Rs 450 crore phosphorous derivatives plant in Ganjam with job potential for 458. Proposals by New Generation Manufacturing and Haasvan Rasayan will add coal-tar processing and bulk-drug intermediates manufacturing in Sundargarh and Nuapada district with investment of Rs 80 crore and Rs 55 crore respectively.

Mineral-based investments include a Rs 160 crore integrated ferro-alloy, chrome derivatives and beneficiation complex by Mahatripurasundari Minerals & Metals Pvt Ltd in Kenojhar. Steel downstream projects will add another Rs 151.92 crore in investments throughout Cuttack and Dhenkanal.
