"Another complaint was lodged in connection with scaling the varsity's gate number 4, damaging the historic emblem of the varsity, crafted by legendary painter Nandalal Bose, and the pelting of stones and water bottles, " he remarked.

Notably, a clash broke out between members of ABVP and Left-leaning student groups at the varsity early on Thursday (August 20, 2026), with both sides accusing each other of bringing outsiders into the campus.
