The information that is circulated does not depict facts about the KFC outlet in Mangaluru, and as a responsible brand, KFC is firmly committed to providing high levels of food safety, quality and hygiene, KFC India stated in an official statement on Monday.

KFC India’s statement followed a raid by food safety personnel on a KFC outlet in City Centre Mall, off K.S. Rao Road, here on Saturday. The personnel accused the outlet of not stocking chicken in a hygienic condition. A notice was issued asking the outlet operators to appear before K. Raju, the Additional Deputy Commissioner and the Designated Officer adjudicating cases investigated by food safety personnel, on Monday.

In the statement on Monday, KFC India stated: “The chicken we serve and store is as per norms and is prepared in-store every day. Each piece undergoes multiple stringent quality and safety checks from the suppliers’ farm to the consumers’ plate. We’re fully cooperating with the authorities concerned and are reviewing the matter in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Any customer who wishes to know more about KFC’s strict kitchen procedures and safety protocols can contact the restaurant manager for a kitchen tour”.
