While replacement of burnt and damaged meters is also continuing, the process of installing old meters has begun in all relevant LESCO offices.

According to sources, under NEPRA rules, burnt meters must be replaced without charging consumers any extra amount.

However, due to the non-approval of a budget for the purchase of AMI smart meters, the business is currently installing conventional old meters.

While further action on net metering and net billing cases will be taken on the basis of the available reports, LESCO is moving ahead with meter installation and replacement at the office level.
