LIC of India has donated medical equipment worth ₹3.19 crore to two healthcare institutions in Rayalaseema region.

The funding was done through the LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation to provide six ventilators and three electrosurgical generators (ESU) worth ₹98 lakh to Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences in Puttaparthi. Similarly, a 1000 mA dual detector digital radiographic system, valued at ₹2.21 crore, was donated to RIMS Government General Hospital in Kadapa.

The equipment at Puttaparthi was inaugurated early in March by the then LIC Zonal Manager (South Central Zone) Puneet Kumar, in the presence of the then Senior Divisional Manager G.K.R.V. Ravikumar and Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust’s managing trustee J. Ratnakar.

Meanwhile, the equipment at RIMS was recently inaugurated by Kadapa MLA Reddeppagari Madhavi Reddy, in the presence of Regional Manager (Marketing) G.K.R.V. Ravikumar, Kadapa Senior Divisional Manager M.V.K.S. Durga Prasad, RIMS Superintendent Dr. Penchalaiah and Administrator U.K. Rangaswamy.

The state-of-the-art equipment at both the hospitals are meant to strengthen the capacity of these institutions that provide specialised and affordable healthcare to the poor patients not only from Andhra Pradesh, but also the neighbouring Karnataka.
