Sindh Minister for Local Administration Syed Nasir Hussain Shah chaired a high-level gathering to review the progress and performance of the Lyari Transformation Project.

Notably, the session was attended by MNA Nabil Gabol, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Further Chief Secretary Local Administration Wasim Shamshad, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's personal secretary Junaid Ahmed Jaidi, Sindh Assembly members Yousuf Baloch and Shazia Karim Sanghar, PPP District South President Javed Nagori, town chairmen, and senior office-holders of the concerned departments.

He directed all departments and institutions concerned to adopt a coordinated strategy and accelerate work through mutual consultation.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah remarked the project was rolled out on the special directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. This person wants Lyari developed as a model area.

He remarked Lyari would be developed as a role-model town of Sindh in line with those directives.

During the session, MNA Nabil Gabol and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab shared their worries and suggestions and briefed the session on the matters being faced in implementation.

Mayor Murtaza Wahab remarked difficulties related to water and sewerage lines would be resolved so that development work is not delayed.

Notably, the local administration minister stated progress on the project would be reviewed regularly and all stakeholders would meet every 15 days to assess progress, identify hurdles and ensure timely solutions.

He additionally directed that officers with a good reputation be posted in Lyari Town and stated officers discovered responsible for negligence or delay should be removed immediately.

Meanwhile, the minister remarked negligence and unnecessary delay in development projects of public importance would not be tolerated.

He directed all concerned departments to maintain effective coordination, fulfil their responsibilities and resolve administrative and technical problems through mutual consultation.
