In a mysterious incident, a 28-year-old man identified as Jayaganesan of Madakulam in Madurai was found dead with cut injuries in Konthagai tank near Thirupuvanam in Sivaganga district on Monday.
Preliminary inquiries disclosed that the victim had come to Sivaganga to attend a relative’s function in Pasiyapuram village near here on Friday. On the evening, he was seen going out from the house with a few known persons.
On Monday morning, following a call to emergency police helpline, 100, the Keeladi police rushed to the spot and conducted inquiries. Superintendent of Police Abishek Gupta visited the scene of crime. DSP Loganathan accompanied. Later, the body was sent to the administration hospital for post-mortem.
Inspector Sethumani Madhavan said that a case has been registered. Further investigation was on.
