Man held for stalking woman and issuing death threat in Tondiarpet

A 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stalking a woman, repeatedly compelling her to continue her relationship with him and threatening to kill her in Tondiarpet.

The 27-year-old woman, a resident of New Washermenpet, had been in a relationship with Ajumudeen, also from the same locality, for the past few years. However, they parted ways around six months ago and had not been in contact since.

According to police, Ajumudeen had allegedly been frequently stalking the woman and forcing her to resume the relationship. On Saturday, the woman and her friend were standing near a tea shop in Tondiarpet when Ajumudeen allegedly approached her, used abusive language and threatened to kill her before fleeing the spot.

Based on a complaint lodged by the woman, the Tondiarpet police registered a case, rolled out a probe and arrested Ajumudeen.
