According to data from the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA), only Belagavi and Bagalkot districts have received normal rainfall during this period. Nevertheless, despite falling under the normal category, data reveals that Belagavi received 400 mm as against the normal 441 mm, with a departure of -9% and Bagalkot received 167 mm as against the normal 196 mm with a departure of -15%.
Mysuru district saw a departure of -58%. It is the highest in the State, followed by Vijayanagar and Chamarajanagar with a departure of -55% and -52% respectively.
According to KSDMA, from June 1 to August 20, the State as a whole recorded an actual rainfall of 435 mm as against the normal 629 mm with departure from normal being -31% which is classified under the deficit category.
