Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the complete outsourcing of operations of the Islamabad Technology Park.
The directives were issued during a review meeting on reforms at the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and progress on the technology park.
The Prime Minister expressed displeasure over delays in completing the Islamabad Technology Park and instructed relevant authorities to ensure its early completion.
He also directed NITB to focus on delivering simple, efficient and modern digital services to citizens and ordered further improvements to administration digital platforms.
Shehbaz Sharif said the transition of federal ministries to e-office was a major digital governance reform and directed that its apply be extended to subordinate departments and state-owned enterprises.
While appointments to key positions are being produced through a transparent mechanism, the meeting was informed that NITB has completed its rightsizing process. All federal ministries have shifted to e-office, with efforts underway to expand the system across other administration entities.
The Prime Minister also ordered the early digitisation of records related to administration properties and urged faster digitalisation of administration institutions.
