Private sector job fair in Erode on August 21

A small-scale private sector job fair will be held at the District Employment and Career Guidance Centre here on August 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m..

Collector S. Kandasamy, in a release, said the centre conducts a private sector job fair on the third Friday of every month, with various private employers participating in the recruitment process. Jobseekers with qualifications ranging from basic literacy to graduation, besides those qualified for jobs such as nurses, tailors, computer operators, typists and drivers, are eligible to participate.

More than 100 jobseekers benefit from the initiative every month. Skill training institutions also participate and select candidates for various skill development programmes.

The fair, organised by the Department of Employment and Training, is free for both jobseekers and employers. Those interested in private sector employment in the district have been urged to participate in the fair. The employment exchange registration numbers of candidates who secure jobs through the fair will remain valid.
