Rain lashed a few parts of Hyderabad on Tuesday (August 18, 2026) afternoon catching people unaware. While pedestrians paced to stand under shade, motorists stood under Hyderabad Metro Rail tracks and flyovers to keep away from getting drenched.
India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad Centre issued a weather update at 2.49 p.m., predicting light to moderate rain or thundershowers with surface winds reaching up to 40 kmph as very probable at a few places over GHMC area during next two hours.

As per Telangana Development Planning Society’s weather observation, till 3.00 p.m., the highest of 10.5 mm was recorded in Musheerabad, 2.5 mm in Serilingampally and 2.0 mm in Ibrahimpatnam.
