Employees of 91 fair cost shops functioning in Thanjavur taluk have complained that they were not able to distribute rations to family cardholders for the past 15 days as of glitches in the point of sale (POS) machines provided to the shops.

Around 80 employees, accompanied by the Tamil Nadu Administration Fair Rate Shop Employees' Union office- bearers arrived at the office of the Taluk Supply Officer in Thanjavur on August 21 and handed over the POS machines to the official stating that they were not functioning properly due to server challenges.

According to sources, they had received information that distribution of ration was affected due to server challenge at some of the shops in the last few days and had initiated necessary steps to solve the difficulty.
