Saudi Arabia has clarified that pilgrims holding a one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa must complete separate booking and permit requirements before every visit to the Kingdom.
According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, visa holders are required to purchase an approved service package through a licensed Umrah provider on the Nusuk platform and obtain an Umrah permit before travelling.
The multiple-entry Umrah visa, introduced in July, remains valid for 365 days from the date of issuance and allows eligible pilgrims to enter Saudi Arabia multiple times during that period.
The ministry said the visa has been introduced to provide pilgrims greater flexibility in planning multiple Umrah trips, but clarified that its one-year validity does not remove the requirements attached to each visit.
What happened
Pilgrims must purchase a fresh service package through Nusuk before every trip. The package must fall within the remaining validity period of the visa.
They are also required to obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk app, with the permit dates matching those of the approved service package.
For the first visit, pilgrims must purchase an approved package, submit their visa application, and complete the required procedures with the relevant authorities.
Their travel eligibility is checked before boarding a flight to Saudi Arabia. Entry and departure details are also recorded to calculate how numerous days remain from the maximum 90-day cumulative stay.
The details
The clarification means that pilgrims planning a second or third Umrah trip during the same year cannot travel solely on the basis of their valid multiple-entry visa. They must complete the service booking and permit process again for every visit.
Pilgrims are also required to meet all other applicable entry and travel eligibility conditions before travelling to Saudi Arabia.
