The Kerala State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes disposed of 34 of the 43 cases considered at district-level grievance hearings held at the Collectorate conference hall in Palakkad and at Agali on Monday.

With this, the commission has taken up 272 complaints across six hearings in Palakkad district so far, and disposed of 208 cases, commission chairperson Shekharan Miniyodan stated.

Most of the complaints were related to the police, revenue, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, and local self-government departments.

The commission also held a detailed discussion on the functioning of the Administration Medical College, Palakkad. It said a comprehensive study would be conducted and a report submitted to improve the functioning of the institution under the Scheduled Caste Development Department.

Mr. Miniyodan led the hearing at the Collectorate along with member Sethu Narayanan. Commission member T.K. Vasu led the hearing at the Agali Mini Civil Station.
