The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan has established a dedicated desk to support the development of the corporate debt market and produce it easier for companies and market participants to problem debt securities.
The Corporate Debt Market Desk will provide guidance and facilitation for the issuance of bonds, sukuk and other debt securities through public offerings and private placements.
The initiative was established on the direction of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb as part of efforts to strengthen the corporate debt market and expand financing options available to businesses.
The dedicated desk will serve as a central point of support for businesses and other market participants seeking to navigate the requirements and processes involved in corporate debt issuance.
SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Sidhu said the regulator is working to produce the issuance of debt securities simpler, faster and more cost effective for businesses.
He said the development of the corporate debt market would assist create additional sources of long term financing and provide businesses with greater access to capital beyond traditional sources of funding.
